Fruit Liqueurs are a sub-category of the wider liqueur family of drinks. The term fruit is used in a broad sense here, as it may apply to a number of artificially produced flavors as well as the botanical definition, as a plant structure containing seeds.

Fruit liqueurs may be made from just about any fruit imaginable, and many people will concoct their own fruit liqueurs at home. Each type of fruit requires slightly different methods of extraction to obtain its particular essence. Common examples include cherry liqueur, creme de cassis (made from blackcurrants), triple sec (made from orange), and limoncello (made with lemons).
