Lamberti Merlot grows well in vineyards situated on the banks of Lake Garda, near Verona and in the region of Trentino. Bright ruby red colour, dry, balanced and soft to the palate, this is an exceptional wine for any occasion.
Originating in 1964 at Lazise, on the banks of Lake Garda, the House of Lamberti was the first to propose a new, modern identity for the wines of Veneto and, in particular, those of Verona. Typical examples are Bardolino and Valpolicella, as well as Amarone. The white wines include Lugana, Soave and Custoza.
100% Merlot
This cultivar has been cultivated in Veneto since time immemorial, but it is only in the last few years that it has received the appreciation it deserved. Selected clones that yield richer grapes and lower production per vine were introduced. Sites in the region of Trentino, on the hills along the Adige River Valley (averaging 200 metres a.sl.) were also identified as suitable for lending increased complexity to this wine.
Following the success of the merlot grape worldwide, its vinification has also been the subject of a fresh approach; well ripened grapes are vinified by the traditional red wine method, with a long maceration on the skins; fermentation takes place slowly, at a relatively low temperature to protect the varietal aromas.
After the malolactic fermentation, the wine is allowed to rest and refine also through the addition of some barrique-matured wine.
Bright ruby-red colour. Faintly grassy, vinous bouquet with a hint of raspberries. Balanced, dry, savoury and elegant taste. Round and ripe to the palate, soft full flavours.
12.5% alcohol vol.
