About the Producer

Domìni Veneti represents the most authentic expression of a territory historically dedicated to vine-growing. The hills from Verona to Lake Garda and in Valpolicella are characterised by terracing and dry-stone walls made by employing construction methods of significant value, while being built in perfect harmony with the environment. The art of dry-stone construction has been recognised as a UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2018.

The new IGT Verona wines from La Scuola nel Vigneto (The School in the Vineyard) collection: Corvina, Garganega and Rosato, are dedicated to biodiversity and the art of dry stone construction in the vineyards.

Domìni Veneti aims at promoting amongst the younger generations a keen interest and understanding of the Valpolicella vine-growing tradition, respect for the environment, as well as for values linked to creativity, solidarity and sustainability. The labels of the three wines represent some of the works selected from the Artistic Competition: The landscape of Valpolicella: peculiarities and particulars, organised as part of the social educational project La Scuola nel Vigneto.

Vineyard

Situated in the foothills near Verona. Altitude from 100 to 200 metres above sea level. Soil type: very varied, from calcareous to clayey. Training system: double pergola. Age of vines in production: 20 to 25 years. Average yield per hectare: 90 hl.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand during the second half of September, after which they are crushed and destemmed. Maceration follows for 10 days with regular punching of the cap. Fermentation at a controlled temperature of 25-28 °C.

Ageing

Domini Veneti La Scuola nel Vigneto Corvina undergoes malolactic fermentation while stored in stainless steel tanks until February. It is then refined in bottle for 4 months. Natural stabilisation.

Tasting Notes

Domini Veneti La Scuola nel Vigneto Corvina is bright ruby red. On the nose, intense cherry and delicately spicy aromas. Soft and fresh on the palate with balanced, silky tannins.
