About the Producer

Mezzolombardo–Trento (the main town of the district) is the place where the de Varda family (noblemen since 1678) owned vineyards and produced their own wines and grappa. In the early 19th century, great grandfather Michele Dolzan started a distillery in these very cellars, handing down such activity until the present fifth generation. Passionately fond of the traditions and teachings of his father Giovanni, Luigi Dolzan has pursued this activity alongside with his sons Michele and Mauro. This they’ve done inspired by such deep-rooted ideals, constantly in contact with changing markets and modern technologies but always respectful of the family’s traditions.

Production

This lemon liqueur is obtained from a blend of selected lemons and lemon skins steeped into pure grain distillate and allowed to macerate. Purified sugar is then added to this infusion.

Characteristics

The colour is immediately reminiscent of sun-ripened lemons. On the nose it displays delicate, intense and fruity flavours typical of Italian lemons. This is then reflected on the palate where a fresh, smooth and aromatic acidic vein dominates.

Analysis

28% alcohol vol.

Tasting and Pairing Suggestions

Before tasting, this liqueur should be allowed to rest in the glass for a few minutes. Although it can be consumed straight as a digestive or enjoyed at any time of the day, it will produce amazing results when used as an ingredient for cocktails or on ice-creams, fruit-salads and fresh fruit.

Serving temperature: This lemon liqueur is best served cold, at 10°-12°C.
